Rose City Initiatives

Madison has been the home of WTNJ since its inception over 30 years ago. In that time we have developed a number of programs targeted specifically to Madison residents. These include:

  • The Madison Young Playwrights Program teaches this after-school program free-of-charge at all Madison Elementary Schools, the Junior School, and St. Vincent Martyr School. Click here to learn more about the Madison Young Playwrights Program.
  • The Madison Summer Recreation Shows, a Junior Show and a Senior Show for the public, featuring Madison-area students. Click here to learn more about the Madison Summer Recreation Show webpage.
  • Arts-in-Education and Professional Development Services– WTNJ calls on its professional writers and theatre practitioners to provide educational services to all Madison schools.
  • Scholarships to the Creative Arts Academy— WTNJ receives a grant from the Madison Alliance Addressing Substance Abuse to provide need-based scholarships to its Creative Arts Academy Offerings.
  • The Madison Arts and Culture Alliance—  WTNJ provides office space and support, and administrative assistance to MACA, Madison’s nationally-recognized alliance of arts organizations, artists, and local businesses.
