The Business of the Theatre

Do you want to be an actor?  A playwright?  A director?  A producer?  Many dream of a career in the theatre but don’t know how to pursue it or are afraid of the competition they’ll face.  For most, it isn’t competition or lack of talent  that keeps them from succeeding – it’s a scarcity of knowledge of the industry, a lack of drive, or ineffective career strategies – things that aren’t covered in school.

Join us for this FREE workshop, presented by Writers Theatre of New Jersey (a professional theatre in Madison), that’s open to the public.  Our panelists and moderators will talk about their experiences as theatre professionals focusing on the strategies they used to succeed and giving vital advice to anyone trying to make a career out of the theatre.  The discussion will hit on important topics like how to get your foot in the door, developing an effective audition strategy, building and maintaining relationships within the industry, creating your own body of work, and more.  Take notes and ask questions to get the most out of the session as the panelists are here to help; they were all once young theatre hopefuls just like you trying to figure it all out.
